"Confused?"
When I first watched this OAV I got really confused. I had been a fan of the artwork for along time. I had also read the first of the manga in the series. I was confused as this is just the first instalment of the anime. I know there is a volume 2 hanging around somewhere in Japan and they haven't translated it. I didn't know this at the time and I was confused about the fact it just ended at the end of the first manga, didn't continue.

Yes its confusing but if you read the 20 odd manga and if you buy the other DVDs when they come out they become clear.

"Angel Sanctuary, my opinion."
I first saw this movie with my parents. Not a good idea. It's a great movie and if you like blood and sick obsesions, this movie is definetly for you. The story line is pretty simple, Setsuna is a teenage boy who is in love with his sister. He is also the reincarnation of an angel. After the angel inside him is awakened and kills a man, Setsuna is forced to leave his home and takes his sister with him. The movie is about the forces that slowly tear Setsuna/Alexiel (the angel inside him) and his family apart. It all comes down to one bloody battle and when the fate of the world, heaven and hell is decided.

"The greatest manga I've Ever Seen!!!! "
This movie is not exactly a movie, it's a serie's of three episodes and is made as a movie. And when I saw it on TV i was so impressed that i couldn't wait to get out on Dvd!!! I recommend to all manga fans... And don't be surprised on blood scenes. I wish it could have more episodes... After this movie the story continues on manga book comics. Have fun!!!

"Too Short, Too Short!"
Angel Sanctuary was so amzingly good, but it was just too short. There were a few iffy parts, but every anime has its flaws. However, I'd have to say, if you have an aversion to "wrong" pairings aka bigbrotherXlittlesister aka incest then you shouldn't watch this because their relationship plays a big role. As for me, incest doesn't bother me in the least, in fact, it was my whole motivation for purchasing this anime. (ok i'm sick, im wrong. geez!)

if you like the whole incestual pairing thing then i would also reccomend Lament of the Lamb. The manga is too drawn out and angsty (9 volumes) but the anime is concise (4 episodes) and has good subtitles (no dubs here). It's midly incestuous and is about vampires. its kinda depresing tho. *shrugs*

"Amazing"
Angel Sanctuary is one of my all time favorite anime/manga. Kaori Yuki, also creator of Kaine, is a very famous mangaka back in Japan. In this anime, Setsuna is a guy who lusts for his sister's love.

I admit that it's wrong for them to love each other in a different kind of way. But love is love. also, the plot might be confusing, but if you understand well, it'll be easy. The angels are mostly named after real angels from the bible.

However, i think dat this kind of anime isnt really made for kids to watch it WITH their parents. Heck..probabaly cause it has sex, drugs, killing, and wrong love in it.

This kind of anime is made for those who like Hellsing, Witch Hunter Robin, Lain, Kaine, Vampire Princess Miyu, or Blood: The last Vampire. Dark, but has understanding.

But all in all..its ap retty cool story. =]
