"good. but not the best" This was a complete bore. Probaly the worst! Anyways it's about this acient pokemon named jarachi. A kid finds out that jarahi wants to be his friend. Then this eveil magician wants jarachi to unleash this pokemon to get rvenge at the people at the science lab. and thats all I'm gonna tell ya. So, this would be great for kids. but I didn't like it. "One of the best Pokemon movies yet" Though I don't believe any Pokemon movie will ever equal the second one, this one came very close. I'll divide this review into three sections: the main feature, the short, and the special features. Movie: Jirachi Wishmaker was a great film, featuring Max and Jirachi. No, not Ash and Jirachi. In all the previous movies, it featured one/two legendaries which Ash either had to battle (Mewtwo and Entei) or he befriended (Lugia, Celebi, and Latias). In this movie, it was not Ash who was Jirachi's best friend, but Max. A nice break from the old "Ash-saves-the-world" theme (though of all the movies using that theme, Pokemon 2000 certainly did the best job with it). It also included just a touch of romance (Diane and Butler), and Ash gave a small hint at liking Misty. x3 In the end, Max must save his new friend Jirachi, and Butler must defeat a monster he created to save Diane. Incidentally, though many people refer to Jirachi as the Wishmaker, I believe it actually refers to Max. Similar to the "Chosen One" of Pokemon 2000 (it was Ash, of course) the Wishmaker is the one Jirachi chooses to be its new friend and help it awaken. Short: The short was very cute and featured Pikachu, Torchic, Treecko, Mudkip, and Lotad. Though I'm sorry Corphish wasn't in it, it also featured Team Rocket's own Meowth, Cacnea, Seviper, and Wobbuffet, which was a great laugh. First, take a happy Meowth, glad to be in charge, and all of his cohorts, preparing a welcome party for the Boss while Jessie and James are away. Then, add Pikachu and his friends accidentally stumbling into TR's new secret base. Add in a dancing Ludicolo, a clueless Loudred, and a wand that makes Pokemon dance, and you have this hilarious short. Special Features: Most of the special features aren't very remarkable, but I particularly enjoyed the music video of the movie's theme song, "Make a Wish." Though that wasn't really what I expected to be my favorite extra, I really enjoyed it. The song is actually the lullaby that May sings at different points in the movie. All in all, I give this movie 5 stars! Whether you're a new trainer or a diehard fan, you'll enjoy Jirachi: Wishmaker. "I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!" As soon as I could, I rushed over to the video store and rented it, and watched it as soon as I got home. Afterwards, all I could say was... woah. There was only 1 pokemon movie I liked better, and that was #5, Pokemon Heros Latias and Latios (or is it the other way around? I always forget...). This one is definitely an improvement upon the first 4. My friend discovered that in mystery stories, if there's a butler, the butler always "does it". This movie gives a whole new meaning to "The butler did it. Why? Because the butler always does it!" Not because there's a butler, but because the bad guy's name is Butler. (That was a little weird to think about...) But anyways, this movie was the first time I had ever taken the bad guy's side in a pokemon movie or story. (Except for maybe that one time... But that doesn't matter... wingull wasn't even in the movie so who cares... neither was Team Aqua...) Butler was also kind of an oxymoron, because he was a magician and a scientist. I liked him because he thought he was doing the right thing, and he wanted to prove that his machine worked...(a little too well, since the Groudon it produced was pure evil...) and he wanted revenge on Team Magma. (I don't like Team Magma...) But anyways, I loved this movie! Jirachi is by far, one of the cutest pokemon ever featured in a pokemon movie. (After Latias, Latios, Suicune, and Mew. Oh, and Pikachu.) This movie is awesome, and I totally recommend it to anyone who likes pokemon. "Worst Pokemovie since... Ever" Okay, I forgot to watch Gotta Dance!, but I did hear about the Meowth/Pikachu/dance together scene, and parents, Pokemon DO have genders. Meowth is no doubt a male and Pikachu has a 99.9% percent chance of being male. Sooooo... Ummmm..... Anyway, JWM covers six nights of boring stuff until the seventh night comes around and then it's Ash (Veronica Taylor, Slayers) saving the world from certain doom again. May (Veronica Taylor), Brock (Eric Stuart, Yu-Gi-Oh!), and Max all seem to be there for two reasons: filler and comic relief. Jirachi is basically the centerpiece of the movie. A sick, cuter-than-Pikachu, evil centerpiece. This movie has only a few entertaining moments, like what they play during the credits. Did anyone notice the Pokemon 3 mansion during the credits? I sure as heck did. Johto (where the mansion is) and Hoenn (where the movie is) are an ocean apart for Pete's sake! This is the biggest pile of Pokecrap ever, worse than Pokemon Heroes (which stunk, in my opinion). In short, stay away from this crappy movie that wishes that it was an anime movie with quality entertainment (coughdigimonthemoviecough). "Dont listen to those other guys...." This is the best pokemon film! I can tell you one film to avoid(digimonthemovie) Pokemon is way better and much more popular! |
