"Certainly the best of the series."
(Previous entry "Godzilla Vs. the Smog Monster")

Summary: Godzilla and Angilas must save the Earth from Ghidrah and Gigan.

By far the best Godzilla movie ever made. Excellent monster effects, musical score, and above average script and acting help make this Godzilla's finest film to date.

Next is "Godzilla Vs. Megalon".

"Bad, but not agonizing"
Godzilla vs. Gigan isn't a good Godzilla movie by any stretch of the imagination. It isn't even an OK Godzilla movie. But having been made a few years after the horrific Godzilla's Revenge and immediatly before the insipid Godzilla vs. Megalon, it comes across as a breath of breathable, if not fresh, air. The plot is standard for the time and fairly unimaginative, and the characters are truly awful. The monster action is at least fairly entertaining, but the only really good part is Akira Ifukube's score, the hearing of which can cause you to forgive a lot of the movie's sins. The final fight scene, unfortunatley, is the worst bit of the monster action, being too slow and dull to really stir anything. Bottom line: watch it, but only if there are no better Godzilla movies available.

"Team Work"
This video I acquired from Avon. i have such a hard time finding these videos. at first i thought it was great but now its just pretty good. how does a team of godzilla/aguiras stand a chance against a team of gigan/king ghidra. i guess its godzilla taking out the trash but at least i got to see godzilla's little spiked friend in action.(i always wondered what he was good for)i treasure all of my movies and this one is in the middle of my favorites list. the fight scenes are great and a little clip of mothra is shown in the movie, when it had nothing to do with movie.

"it was ok"
i find the movie fine but the plot is wierd. having the aliens be cockroaches was stupid, but the fight scene was good. you should buy it!

"Fair movie. Cool new monster!"
G vs. Gigan is a pretty bad movie. Rampant use of stock footage pushes the running time of the new parts of this movie to about 98 seconds. Even the score is recycled! As expected, the script is nothing to write home about and the characters make pinnochio seem life-like. Some of the new spfx scenes fall far short of past efforts, creating a clash between the old and new scenes. However, the film is not totally without merit. Gigan is a pretty cool monster; part machine, part kaiju. He has gone on to become one of ToHo's most beloved creations. Also, the monster battle at the refinery is well-done and exciting. Definitely not one of ToHo's best.
