"Not what I thought it was." Ok guys, I saw this movie in the store randomly. Normally I come here and check out what people say about the movie, or at least rent it before I buy it, but for once I did not and I really regret it. Seeing that "ninja resturrection" was written the exact same way that "ninja scroll" was on the cover, the chacter collage for the cover art, and a quick scan on the back reveiling that the main characters name was Jubei was enough for me to pick the movie up and spend the $ amount on the spot. boy was I dissapointed when I got home and realised it had nothing to do with ninja scroll, I tried not to hold that against it and keep an open mind, but I just was not that thrilled with the movie. "The revenge of Jubei" was the worse of the two. I felt nothing for the characters because they just did not seem to have any depth and the violence seemed excesive, at least there was a reason for it in ninja scroll. The second one on the disc "Hell's spawn" is the only reason this anime got three stars. I actually started to like the characters and Jubei had a little depth, not just an unkillable fighter. unfortunatly just when its started making a little sence and I started to like it, it ended and I am not willing to go out and buy the next one because I just dont care that much. ""Complete disgrace to Animation"" Ugghhh. Man, this movie stinks. I've been watching animation for a long time, study Ninjutsu, Japanese History, am a born again christian. I have to tell you this flat out has poor execution in the following elements that they present. For example. Jubei, which was hired by a Shoguns to assassinate a character in the movie makes no sense. Ninja's and Samurai are on opposite sides of the field. Samurai hate Ninja, fear them and follow different codes of honor. The ninja sword arts are unknown to the samurai. Ninja are banned in the society of Japan. If you don't believe me, read a book by any real Ninja master. I can draw better with my left hand. (I am right handed. Heck, I learned to draw upside down and with my eyes closed), (I learned this In drawing fundamentals). "Totally (...)!!" Was a complete waste of money! I LOVED Ninja Scroll! and thats why I bought Ninja Ressurection, in the belief that it would be just as good.. To be honest.. It wasnt good at all.. The storyline.. heck WHAT storyline?? The images.. *blergh*.. and the ending...?? WHAT ending??!! Ninja Ressurection seemed more like an introduction to a whole new series... After the 'movie' finished I felt like throwing something at the TV. Thats how bad it was! "In a word...evil" THIS WAS THE WORST ANIME I HAVE EVER SEEN! ...if it was possible I would have given it negative stars, as many as I could. It had a boring story which was confusing and hard to follow, as it jumps between times and places with NO explanation whatsoever. Sure, it had a lot of fighting, but it was absurdly graphic, to the point where it wasn't enjoyable because it was so unrealistic (they would cut off someones arm and the blood would spew like 30 ft and cover an entire room). This anime was bad enough that ADV didn't even bother to translate the second half! Running into a dull grey brick wall untill you lose consciousness is more entertaining (trust me on this-that's what I was doing after renting it and realizing that it sucked)...stay as far away from Ninja Resuriction as you possibly can! "Ninja Ressurection Extremely Cool or just for fools" I sorta expected alittle more fighting in this one but there wasn't though the first scene was cool.I thought it was okay but there was one problem I don't think it was right when that chick was ripped open.My personal opinion is it was a great anime to stay up late with your Girlfriend (Or boy friend) to scare them |
