"Superb with flaws but not enough flaws to get four stars!"
This is the first anime DVD I purchased. It is great in terms of animation. I mean great everything is detailed. Although the animation is great, the story needs a little work. How many times have we seen a film where someone has a long lost family member come? Many. It still presents a somewhat stale kind of film and does it in a good way. Most of the minor Alpha characters make cameos that is also dissapointing. The reason why you guys should get this though is for. The animation, the action, the dark hadou, and the fact that it is Street Fighter related. Great for fans. Other people will look elsewhere. The features aren't to bad either.

"Street Fighter is the best!"
It's been ten years since Street Fighter 2 hit store shelves for the SNES and to commemorate this long lasting franschise, Capcom has honored us with a sensational Street Fighter movie. The main characters are bascially Ryu, Ken, Chung Li. It starts off with a fight that has Chung Li and Ryu show off their killer moves. One of the new characters who is introduced is Shun, Ryo's long lost little brother. He stays with Ken and Ryo for the time and then comes a tournament for money. Ryo decides not to fight and rather watch Ken fight. So they go to their specified location only to be attacked by thugs. At this time, Ken meet Sakura, a young school girl who wants to be like Ryu. When the group finally meets at the location, a few familiar faces come up (Bison and Vega). A great battle takes place, but ends up with Shun being captured. Ryo was able to fight harder thanks to the evil Dark Hado. The Dark Hado is a mysterious force that swallowed up Akura and Shun posses it too. During this time, Sakura, injured in the hospital, thinks hard about what it means to fight. Now we know that Street Fighter is more than just another Dragonball Z. Ken, Ryu and Chung Li take off for the final tournament ground. It is soon revealed that a mad scientist wants to rule the world with the Dark Hado and he has a clever way of achieving it. I won't tell you how it ends, but does end a tad bit tragic, but leaves you feeling great. The animation is extremely good. The character designs are all great although come might not like Chung Li's design. The dub serves up to be great with familiar voices from other series. The most notable one will be the voice actor of Ken who also played the voice of Spike in Cowboy Bebop. My only bicker about the dub is that they say Ryo as Reo. The music is the best part of the movie. Its just too bad that Manga couldn't have given this a theatrical release like that of "X" because the music makes it seem very theatrical. One thing I think worth noting is that when Sakura is in a hospital bed playing Street Fighter 2 on a gameboy! The story is a little linear, but, hey, it's Street Fighter. I grew up playing this stuff. And it is a treat to watch. Does the story make sense? Not a lot of it. Is it entertaining? Heck yeah. Street Fighter isn't a well layed out plot with an exellent story, but it is a movie you can just sit down and watch for fun without going into a lot of detail. A very entertaining film. Highly recommended.

"Amazing"
I felt that this anime was incredible. The artwork and animation are great and simply ooze style. The music, for the most part, is incredible as well. The fight scenes may not be quite as fast-paced as they were in the earlier Street Fighter Animes, but the presentation of Alpha really draws you in during fights and otherwise. The DVD is one amazing package, and well worth picking up. I have been extremely pleased.

"a shameful one..."
a big dissapointment, can't understand how some mindless reviews say that this is a good one,the fights are boring,slow..the animation is plain, the plot is simply unintersting, where is akuma?? 3 minutes of his useless appearence in the movie didn't make a change!!!the rest of the other SF alpha characters did simply nothing except of posing for a few pictures to show off their muscles thank goodness i didn't buy...avoid this movie, trust me...

"Don't be so hard on it!"
Come down people, the best of Street Fighter Alpha is still to come.Althougt this movie wasn't what you really were expecting it is just the beginning of what will be a great anime serie.Give S.F.A.(S.F.Z.)one more chance and it would show you how great it is.I know the plot wasn't quit clear but the characters were just perfect. It introducced us a new generation of SF,a whole new plot and a new beginning.Even though this anime wasn't the best of all it sure has it action scenes that are a total blast. If you just want to try it,rent it but if you really are a SF fan this movie is one for you to keep.
