"What a big disappointment"
What a big disappointment. I am a huge Street Fighter fan- of the game, the toys, the movies... but this has been the worst. The plot line is slapped together, the animation is surprisingly bad with bad edits and the fight sequences was just poorly done. They have Akuma for all of 5 min which is a huge bummer and nothing new is said about any of the characters. Do not buy- definately rent.

"Disappointing"
In this review I will discuss this movie's good and bad points. First, some of the new characters like Sakura, Rose, and Birdie were in the movie briefly but in a meaningful way. Secondly, the dubbing was very good. The scenes with Sakura in them were very cute and humorous, even Ryu's alleged brother Shun had some adorable moments.

Now on to the bad points, the back of the movie box claims that this movie is a sequel to the Street Fighter II V series, however this is not the case. In fact Chun-Li is reintroduced to Ryu and Ken (yawn).

This movie has character designs by Yoshihiko Umakoshi the result is that the characters look the way that they do in the Street Fighter Alpha games which in my opinion isn't nearly as good as the character designs in the Street Fighter II movie or the SF II V series. The fact that this is a Street Fighter movie I expected the fight scenes to be equal to or better than the fight scenes in the previous SF movie or television series, but unfortunately the fight scenes aren't that great. Also, I was a little upset that some of the Alpha characters that were in the movie like Guy, Sodom, Rolento, Adon, Vega, Dhalism, and Dan, had roles that were short-lived and corny. The story wasn't fully realized by the writer's in my opinion, because it had the potential for being so much more than a story fit for a Saturday morning cartoon show. The characters were also in many cases repeating the same tired lines over and over again which was very annoying.

"More stars than it deserves"
I am a HUGE Street Fighter fan and when I heard this movie was coming out I was extremely excited. After I finished watching it I was very depressed. First of all it's very misleading. Akuma is a big part of the cover of the box. He's in it about a total of 1min. He doesn't fight once unless you count the one jump kick at the end. Second, Chun Li is UGLY! I'm a major Chun Li fan and to see her as ugly as that is very disappointing. Third, Ken and Chun Li fight great but they don't win a single fight in the entire movie. Fourth, Shun, Ryu's brother, is STUPID! Instead of him following Ryu would it have killed them to make it Sakura? That's how it's supposed to be. Fifth, Sakura is barely in it and she doesn't have a single fight and she breaks her leg on a rock or something. Sixth, at the end of the movie they bring in all the Alpha characters and have them fighting for no reason. Plus you only see most of them for a split second. The WORST part of the whole movie is the villain. It's this nerdy mad scientist who's goal is to steal the Alpha characters moves in order to become the strongest fighter for reasons unexplained. His main goal is to steal Ryu's "dark hado" which is the stupidest thing I ever heard of. Every fight Ryu gets into brings out his dark hado. Rose comes to him to give him advice even though Rose is supposed to be going after Bison who isn't even in the movie. Chun Li tells Ryu and Ken that she's going with them to look for her father even though she never even tries. I had such high hopes for this movie. The first one was FAR better than this even though the voice acting was terrible in it. The best thing I can say about this movie is that the voice acting is great with some truly beautiful artwork except for Chun Li and some other characters.
