"to be continued... hopefully !"
After seeing the live action and animated street fighter II movie I was anxious to pick up Street Fighter Alpha and I must say that compared to the others (I know that many people didn't like the live action Street Fighter but I did) I really wasn't that impressed with this one. Street Fighter Alpha doens't completely suck, it just leaves more to be desired which is why I'm hoping that Street Fighter Alpha Generations will pick up where this one left off. If you are a fan of the Street Fighter Alpha games and you haven't seen this movie then I should inform you that only a few characters make an appearance. The main street fighters are Ryu, Ken, and Chun Li. Birdie, Adon, Rose, and Akuma have appearances and there is a fight scene with Zangief as well. Other than that, don't expect a showdown between Ryu and Ken vs. Akuma. I assume that will be covered in Alpha Generations along with Chun Li investigating Shadowlaw due to the disapperance of her father (which tells me that Street Fighter Alpha is a prequel to Street Fighter II). Until then, if you have not seen this movie than you might want to wait for Street Fighter Alpha Generations to come out so that the two can be viewed together. The dvd for Street Fighter Alpha has good features though.

"the action scene are pretty nice"
as opposed to he original street fighter movie which featured a ridilucuous plot and dated by vibrant animation Alpha makes some visual improbments. the chrachter designs are more proportional and more appealing then SF:M and the fight scenes are certianly better, but the plot and the whole feel is an after thought. rushed and uneven it simply adds up beyond eye candy

"go buy SFII, don't waste your time here"
this movie, although decent, doesn't do justice to what started back in 95' w/ Street Fighter II.

If your a real street fighter fan, that movie is the holy grail... this one... ehhh, it's entertaining.

This one should really have continued where that one left off.

"dont listen to these idiots, this movie was amazing!!"
i love all things anime, especially street fighter, the film itself is very well laid out, i like the idea that akuma dosnt fight, that ryu dosnt have the power to take him on. the boss sadler and his creation were very well executed, i liked the warrior and would like to see him appear in future games.
also for everyone who says the plot with his brother is crap, u obviously dint watch the film properly, as you find out the true meaning of the film at the end.
Also the next film out in july i think called alpha generations does feature akuma, hopefully he fights ryu and ken and becomes shin akuma.

"Koxson"
Ryu's eyes are are blue now? His dodging bullets at the beginning is the most interesting part of the movie?

I would much have preferred a sequel to the SFII the animated movie, by Capcom and Manga. That movie was beyond words in a good way. This movie is beyond words in a bad way.

This movie spits in both eyes of anyone seeking entertainment.

The movie is completely misleading to anyone who hasn't played the game, as they would think it is rubbish.

Last, but not least, this movie is a kick in the balls to anyone who saw Street Fighter II the animated movie.

Please, please, please do not encourage mild-depression by buying this movie. It turned my fun-friday night into a lonely-sunday morning, yet I had guests.

You can't say you were not warned.

Lloyd Harris
