 "I was shocked"I don't give it 5 stars .. i give it freaking 10. I absolutely love this movie and it shocked the hell out of me. I though it was going to be a regular vampire killing vampires movie and you know, nothing much but blood and fights which seemed fine by me. But then I watched the movie and of course it has blood and fights (oh so good!) but there is also the complexity of "D" and the other characters .. they're all so interesting in their own way, that just made me care about the plot within the movie much more. THE ENDING ROCKS !!! I abso freaking lutely loved the ending ... just watch it and you'll know what I mean .. dammit i wanted to hug himm lol  "Gorgeous animation...story may leave something to be desired"No one can deny that the animation in this movie is gorgeous, stunning, beautiful. Characters all have depth to their faces, fluidity to their movies, while still being realistic moving, which is hard to do in animation. While some disagree, the dubbing really isn't bad at all, it even borderlines on good, as do the actors chosen to lend their voices to the parts. However, I'm not the first to say that the connection between Charlotte and Link was, well, silly at best. Charlotte comes off as being stupid and Link comes off as being an uptight psycho-possesive boyfriend. D was the best in this movie. People complain he didn't have enough depth, well, he's gonna be around for a while. I doubt that he has any desire just to pop out and fall in love, become someone's best friend, save a puppy, etc. He was stunningly animated. Maybe that's just my love for D. Overall, if one could combine the beautiful animation of this one with the storyline of the original, it'd be the classic anime, the touchstone for all anime to come. This is worth buying, I believe. "Un classique!"je voyais toujours ce dessin animé au magasin et j'avais entendu dire que les graphiques étaient "écoeurants". Avec les critiques sur Amazon, je l'ai finalement acheté. Et je n'ai pas regretté. Vampire HUnter D mérite d'être connu! Les dessins et les décors sont extrèmement détaillés. Il suffit de regarder l'ouverture du film pour en être convaincu. La musique est très belle et évoque les anciens films de vampires. Il y a un je-ne-sais-quoi de mélancolique dans cet univer post-apocalyptique où évolue D, un dhampire (un être mi-humain, mi-vampire)qui doit retrouver la fille d'un riche bourgeois "enlevée" par un vampire notoire. Cette fois, D a de la concurrence: les frères MarKus et Leila, une chasseuse de prime qui hait les vampires...À travers le film, les personnages gagnent en profondeur émotionnelle: il suffit de voir Borgoff pleurer la mort de ses frères, Leila aux prises avec ses vieux démons, Charlotte et son amoureux, le vampire Meir Link, aspirer à un bonheur interdit et enfin D, réservé mais au combien charismatique, qui cherche toujours sa place dans cet univers où vampires et humains ne peuvent vivre ensemble. Un beau film! T-T je vous conseille fortement de voir la première version du film de 1985, qui est tout aussi excellente, afin de vous plonger dans l'univers de ce chasseur de primes très particulier. "GREAT, AMAZING, BEST VAMPIRE ANIME OF ALL TIME...."The rate system only goes up to five, but it deserves so many more stars. The story is simply breath taking, the detail and quality of the animation is superv. The sound and voice acting is also of A+ quality, the dark and misterious "D" is without a doubt one, if not THE most incredible anime character ever created. From the opening scene to the action packed ending you will not want to miss a moment of it. The whole story about the vampire race is so depresing and well told, its simply amazing. Complemented excellently by the sad love story. Dont wait another minute and deny yourself the pleasure of watching this excelent piece of anime. "This Movie Rocks"If you love anime, and even if you don't, this movie has to be the best anime I've EVER seen. I love anime, to put it simply. The characters are so amazing and have definite personalities. D's hand is the best while adding a bit of comedy to the overall greatness of the movie making it even better. There are amazing scenes between Charlotte and Meier. And it is a wonderful romance even though that's not one of the main subjects ^_-! The ending could not be any better. There's no way that really anyone could not like this movie in my opinion anyway. Overall this movie is the best anime you'll ever see. -Mokuren ^_- |
