"COOL!"
One day I went down to the movie store and rented this movie. I was thinking OK a half-good movie to pass the weekend. I watched it and I was like WOW! The graphics were amazing! O_O Meier Link was one of the coolest characters in anime. And D was just awesome. The plot was amazing as well. I watched this when I was 13.
I strongly recommend it to any anime lover.
I'd rate it for 13 and up

"A very pretty movie"
Ok I just have to say this. My and my friend, we watched this movie with the sound off. And you know what? It was still very enjoyable. This movie is all about the art. The story is merely an excuse to have a dark, very badass anti-hero walk around acting like a badass in a visually interesting and pleasing environment. I didn't know until after I rented this movie that it only comes dubbed in English, and it really threw me off. I HATE dudding... which is why I had the sound off. The dubbing on this is about as good as can be expected, although of lesser quality than Princess MOnonoke or Akira. The dialogue is terrible and a bit confusing at times, and the plot... well the plot is basic and not terribly important. Rent this movie if you want to look at something pretty and nicely animated.

"When I say 5 stars I mean 5 stars"
To all anime fans, I have seen alot and alot of animation so far and Believe me nothing like Vampire Hunter D-BloodLust at all, I admit it there are some GREAT ones as well such as: Samurai X "my favoraite so far" and Ninja Scroll but when it comes to fair.. its D. If you have checked the first part of vampire Hunter D then I'm quite sure you are disappointed but you surely are going to change your mind when you see this BloodLust one! Its freaky that some friends of mine even dare to compaire that silly Inuyasha to either Kenshin or D! I have be an anime fan for more than 20 years so trust me in that. Enjoy it.. Snake

"Great Movie"
I have seen both Vampire Hunter D and Blood Lust and I must say both are great movies, I have been a fan of anime for sometime now and I have Cartoon Network and Vampire D to thank really.

Enough about me and to the movie!!

What really sets the animes apart from most others in the complexity of the story lines and the characters. You have D a halfling part Human and part Vampire. D is always in conflict with himself and others because of this, he's not human and thus humans want nothing to do with him other than killing Vampires for them. Vampires don't except him because he's not a full Vampire and he hunts them for money so he is hated on both fronts. But D isn't a loner as you will see in the films, he has paraisite that grows on his hand.(hard to explaine)What is interesting to me is that in Vampire Hunter D the hand's face was young, but in Blood Lust the Face had grown older. D is by far a well made character and lot of people think he was based off blade. Not true Blade came out long after Hunter D and I think might have been based off Hunter D.

Another part of the flim that I enjoyed is the soical interaction of the people in the flim D is fear by alot of people, yet he has never killed a human, nor has he ever loved one in Hunter D you think he and Doris are falling in love and D is starting to fall for her but he knows that it would never work for them becasue he is half Vampire. In Blood Lust D once again gains feelings for someone but he lets his feelings go for her sake. You can also see the hate alot of people have for him and Vampires and other monsters of the night. But you also see how kindness and love provile in this movie and how two lonely people find comon ground, and friendship, and a love that is forbidden to happien between a Vampire and Human.

Vampire Hunter D and Bloodlust are two movie that you should own or at the very least watch, because they are monumental movies that go past just anime, blood, fighting, sex,and story they get to the side of people that few ever see, and the unsung Hero that keep his promsie to an "old friend".

"Greatest Animated Film Ever!"
Assuming that you like the subject matter of vampires, THIS is THE animated movie to see. Obviously, the animation is incredible; it's about 3 years old now, but very few animated works being made today can get close to touching it. Both the level of detail and the style are simply amazing. However, good animation can be really dull if not paired with a good story. Fortunately, Bloodlust has 5 times the story of it's old predecessor. The original Vampire Hunter D may have been a masterpiece of its time, but both the animation AND the writing are showing equal amounts of anachronistic wear and tear. I hear some people complain about the story in Bloodlust, but I strongly disagree with their analysis. I HATE movies that lack substance, and this isn't one of them. The characters are all interesting, and the movie constantly hints at many of their back-stories. In doing so, it weaves a rich tapestry of a larger world that the characters are acting in. The main plot, itself, is well paced and well written. You will care about most of the characters by the end of the movie. In addition, the movie is complimented by a beautiful soundtrack that kicks in at just the right moments. I very much hope we haven't seen the last of the world's favorite Dunpeal, D.
