"Awesome Soundtrack!"
When I saw this movie, I really didn't like it that much. For one thing, there is very little character development and that just leaves the movie a bit empty. Even though I didn't care for the movie, I loved the soundtrack. Yoko Kanno is one of the best composers out there. Even if you don't like the movie, you should still buy the box set for the soundtrack, which is what I did. If you buy this set somewhere a little cheaper, such as deepdiscountdvd.com, you'll be paying only a few dollars more (or perhaps less, after shipping costs) than you would pay for the soundtrack alone since there is no domestic version sold separately. For a few dollars more, you get the movie and a bonus disk. Even if you don't like the movie all that much, why not get it too if it's not going to cost you much more?

"Don't Buy it."
I would not buy this if you have not seen the origional series, and for that matter I wouldn't buy it if you have. This movie does not do the great series any credit. Though many of the characters in the movie are the same as in the show, the entire plot is different. Buy the series, and not the movie.

"YOU are the wing goddess..."
I have never seen an episode of the series, however, i am glad I saw this first. I had no idea what was going on, and it was HILARIOUS! i almost fell out of my chair laughing when Van says "Might you be the wing goddess?" and hitomi immediately has a flashback of Falcon saying "YOU are the wing goddess." I Laughed even harder when, for no explicable reason, there is a clip of a severed head being held by a hand, saying "FIGHT VAN, FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I own this movie, and i suggest if u have the same sense of humor as me, you hafta have it.

"Travel Into Gaea"
ESCAFLOWNE, the movie, is
defiantly worth seeing, and this package is worth getting.
Even though the series didn't really fair well for American
audiences.
It is still great for any true ESCAFLOWNE fan.
With it you even get the movie sound track
and additional footage, and a lot more.
If you have not seen it however.
I would maybe ask a friend if they have
the series on DVD or video.
Or a BLOCKBUSTER and watch it first.
The original animated would be good to
start out with first.

But if your all ready a fan.
Then I would suggest getting it.

"series was awful movies great"
Man after having watched one of the worst anime series I had ever laid eyes on I was then forced by a friend to see the movie. My first reaction was astonishment that they had decided to drop the slow and lame story the series had force fed me to something that was very fast paced and easier to watch. Some reviewers said it was confusing after watching the movie you won't be able to understand how they stretched a story (loosly based on the same thing) across an entire series. The movie was a vast improvement on the show not just visually and harmonically but also storywise. I highly recomend seeing the movie and NEVER watching the series which is lame and the story seemed like some kinda cheesey chick flick. Female anime fans might enjoy it and maybe a few feminine male anime fasn will enjoy it other than that it's just trash. The movie though is gold I didn't spring for the 3 disc special edition thing that's just for people with too much money but the regular dvd suits me just fine i also wanna get the soundtrack cause that was just awsome. Anyway don't waste your time on the series watch the movie and save your money to get a better series.
