The first Inu-Yasha theatrical feature plays like an extended episode of the popular television series. Kagome, Inu-Yasha, Shippo, Miroku, and Sango are pitted not against Naraku, but against the moth-demon Menomaru, who was awakened by a falling shard from the enchanted Shikon Jewel. Menomaru seeks to recapture the power of his father Hyoga, who was defeated by Inu-Yasha's father when Hyoga came to Japan "from the continent" (i.e., during the Mongol invasion of 1274). Only the combined power of Kagome's arrows and Inu-Yasha's sword Tetsusaiga can defeat this mighty demon. Affections Touching Across Time is unusually handsome for a feature based on a broadcast series: When snow falls on Kagome's 20th-century home, the designers evoke the prints of Kawase Hasui. Unfortunately, the images have been compressed to fit the TV format, and there's no widescreen option. Still, it's a must-have for Inu-Yasha fans. (Unrated: suitable for ages 13 and older: violence, grotesque imagery) --Charles Solomon

From Description
200 years ago, InuYasha's father sealed away a powerful demon from China named Hyoga. A Shikon Jewel shard awakens Hyoga's son, Menomaru, inspiring him to absorb the remains of his father's power to take control of the world. It's up to InuYasha and his friends to stop this nearly invincible foe!

"COOOOOOOOOL!!!"
I loved this movie soooooooo much! it was the single coolist thing I have ever seen! although some things are unessesary, it was sweeeeet!

"good movie"
I enjoyed this movie, even though the plot dragged a little. The last 15 minutes were funny. Over all I would say to buy this if you're a inuyasha fan.

"Same Old, Same Old"
Sorry to all of the other fans out there, but I just don't see what is so overwhelmingly good about this movie. It seems like just another way to get money from adoring fans (just like many of the Harry Potter movies...*cough cough*). There is no real substantial plot, and the way Kikyo and Sesshomaru walk in and leave just as quickly shows the creator's desperate need to try and break up the monotony. Yes, there is good art and the voice overs are good, but the movie lacks any of the humor, characterization, or originality of the television shows. They beef up the "bad guy" to almost Naraku-like proportions, then when the baddy finally reaches full power, Inuyasha defeats him with a single stroke. Devoted fans are probably still going to check this movie out just for the heck of it, but be warned that it is an average movie and nothing of great consequence should be expected from it.

"A MUST HAVE FOR YOUR COLLECTION"
I am yet to see all the episodes of Inu Yasha since they aired on Cartoon Network, but buying the first movie gaves me a summary of the series and characters. I luv the way Kagome expresses her feelings towards Inu Yasha and how their affection did traveled through time. I absolutely recommend this movie for all Inu Yasha fans out there!
