 "Thank you, Amazon Reviewers, for saving me money!"I'm keen to see this film, so rather than wait on Amazon I purchased it from the local WalMart. Fortunately for me, I browsed the Amazon reviews before I actually cracked the packaging! I saved myself money, spared myself the disappointment and got a refund before I got to actually 'enjoy' the subtitling debacle for myself, because that would have driven me nuts. Thanks to those who reviewed it, and gave the rest of us some advance warning...  "Great Movie, Horrifying DVD"Great movie. Fantastic Visuals and a beautiful soundtrack, great story. What more could you ask for in a GITS movie? A great DVD. I normally like Dreamworks and what they do but this is a travesty. I bought the DVD and found myself with much disappointment. And yeah, how could they not dub it in English? I do not mind the subtitles or the japanese language but I would have liked an English dubbed version as well. THe cover of the DVD is tragic as well. If it was not GITS, I would not have even bothered picking it up. If you are smart, you will wait for a better version. If you are like me, and just want your own copy for the time being, the movie is worth what you pay but do not expect anything other than a great movie.  "Good flick but..."Unless you don't mind your movies in Japanese, wait for the special edition. The only way to get English is through the subtitles. Unfortunate and somewhat mystifying considering both versions of the first film had an English dub. Hopefully this won't damage sales so much that the publishers see this as lack of interest and decide not to release a special edition, or at least a decent one. For other problems & valid complaints, read the other reviews here.  "Getting GIS 2 fixed"If your like me your copy of GIS 2 come with the Hearing Impair subtitles track. But, no regular subtitle track. That is a mistake DreamWorks made. It suppose to have a regular subtitle track too. What DreamWorks is doing is replacing the faulty DVD's. Just type in the link below. It will take you to the GIS 2 replacement form page.( http://recp.rm05.net/servlet/SignUpForm?f=2318 ) Just follow the instructions. I just mail my DVD back and got an email saying they got the DVD and the corrected DVD will be mail to me in a few weeks. I'm giving the disc 4 stars because DreamWorks dealt with the problem instead of ignoring it. "Ghost in the shell"This movie is only for die hard fans. It is all spoken in Japanise, but there are English subtitiles. The Graphics are realistic. I love the way they kept the main characters in 2-d and the back ground in 3-d. It makes it like the comic strip witch the movie was baised off of. |
