"Well-drawn animation, and an easy-to-understand plot!"
The fourth DBZ movie, Lord Slug was originally released in Japan under the title "Super Saiya-Jin Gokuu" but was changed into Lord Slug after being dubbed into English and released in the U.S.A. This movie is a bit shorter than the others, but it is still good. I love the first song, besides the theme, played on this movie, I was "playing the music" in my head 'cause it was so cool. It wasn't all that funny when Gohan and Higher Dragon annoyed Piccolo in the beginning, but it was a little. This movie practically gets right to the point, basically right after that scene the movie gets down to business. First we see a so-called "computer simulation" of a giant meteor destroying the planet, then some more kick ... music starts to play and it shows Goku and Krillin trying to deflect the asteroud with their Kamehameha beams fused together (I'm not telling what happens to the asteroid). Let's jump forward to after Goku starts fighting Lord Slug, now, Slug gets him enraged and Goku gets really strong, people say that he went Super Saiyan but actually Goku never goes Super Saiyan until DBZ movie 5 (which is Cooler's Revenge). Still, the way Goku charged like a bull straight at Lord Slug was really cool, but after that, then it wasn't cool again until Goku was back on his feet after a thorough ...-whoopin' from Slug and powers up a Kaio-Ken attack. Unlike the first three movies, Goku sounds like he does in the series. It's kind of disappointing to hear Goku raged up in the first three DBZ movies 'cause he kinda sounds like a girl. The Super Saiyan transformation was great (it's easier just to call it Super Saiyan, so let's do just that, 'kay?) and he looked cool with waving black hair, red shadowing (his hair, I mean) and his pupils cannot be seen. Some people say it looks stupid, but I think it looks fairly cool. All in all, this was a great DBZ movie and you should buy it right away.

Oh yeah, that first song besides the theme that I was talking about, it is by Finger Eleven and it is called Drag You Down.

"THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME!"
This Movie Is About A Asteroid Heading for earth Gokou and Krillin try to change its corse without blowing it up but it doesnt do anything when they shoot a Kamehameha at it exept keep coming when it just about hits earth it explods then there is building out of no where its lord slug he is old and seeks iternal youth with the dragonballs!! Gohan and Piccolo try to stop them Piccolo easily fools and kills this orange guy I forgot his name but anyway Gohan gets pumbled by Medamatcha and angeila but Gokou and Krillin come and Gokou easily destroys them but here comes Lord Slug out of the door "This guys askin for it I got this one Gokou" "Krillin No" Krillin flys off into the air "He's all yours Gokou!" "They Fight for along time then Gokou decides to turn Super Sayian then it really heats up But watch out Gokou you havent won yet Slugs got a trick up his sleeve He's a Super Namek!!!

"Not a bad movie..."
I have watched both dubbed and subbed versions on this DVD, and I have to say I'm rather impressed with both of them. However, FUNimation does tend to have the characters say rather ridiculous things during intense battles for I have no idea why; and I've found some grammatical errors that do tend to be rather annoying at times. At the back of the DVD case, it said "May contain violence and brief nudity," which didn't make sense to me at all. This movie DOES contain violent scenes, but I didn't find any which included nudity.

The story itself is rather weak and rather cliché. Some evil planet/asteroid thing appears and threatens the entire existence of the Earth. A big mess happens and Goku always manages to win in the end. However, there is a nice twist with the villains having to make the atmosphere breathable in order to use Earth as their new cruiser-thing.

What rather bugged me was Goku's Super Saiya-jin transformation. His hair didn't even turn gold, which allows a lot of people to say, "He didn't even turn Super Saiya-jin, so, why is it in the movie's title?"
Also, the dub's music tend to disturb me from time to time. They mostly used music from hard rock groups in the soundtrack (not that any of the groups are bad or anything), and this itself didn't bother me, it just seems when the music cued in, it didn't seem very appropriate at all. At times, it ruined the drama and the suspense of certain scenes which you could definately feel in the subtitled version.

So, really, this movie does have its weak points, and its strong points, so they're pretty much even. This isn't my favourite DBZ movie, but this doesn't mean it'll stop me from watching this again.

"Dbz Lord slug 1996"
Superb film with the greatest action i've ever seen, except for the other titles from the dbz range it can't be beat.

"Lord Slug"
This is probly the worst movie I've ever seen.I am die hard DBZ fan and I love every DBZ movie/episode even the (yucky) ones but this one is terrible. Stupid plot and no action. It is also
exremely short. 45 minuets. That is 1 1/2 episodes. And if your have to buy it , buy it uncut. The cut one cuts EVERYTHING out.
