"Good all around Ninja Anime!" If you like Japanese Animation, then this is a great movie to get. This movie has it all: secret ninja clans, demon warriors, magic weapons, and of course alot of great battles. Parts of this movie are somewhat slow moving though and seem to be pieced together from episodes. If you liked Ninja Scroll, then you will enjoy this movie. "This movie blows wang" one of teh worst anime movies i have ever seen. the story is boring and pointless and teh actoin sceens arent intense. if you want good anime see Akira or ninja scroll. Iria is good too. "One of the best modern anime's out there!" I rented Wrath of the Ninja from Blockbuster video and found after watching it 2-3 times it became one of my favorites. Besides the demons, blood, gore, spiritual sword flying action it also has a great storyline, romance and complicated characters. I admit at first i found it confusing but the more i watched it the more i understood. It is a full length feature film, not 50min like so many other animes'. The Demon God storyline, the doublecross by Ranmaru, the Hosts' of Oboro, and the thought provoking question of fate were all perfectly woven together to produce one of the greatest anime films. I also found it a refreshing change that the heroine Ionoskai [forgive my bad spelling] did not have the blond hair, big breast, blue eyes look that is typical of so many other japanimations. She and the other female characters actually looked like real women and not some artists fantasy, this made the movie so much more realistic and easy to watch. I give this movie 4 stars and i highly recommed it. "Good, but not the best" First off, let me say that I consider myself a mediocre judge of anime. I'm by no means the final word when it comes to these things. That said, I thought Wrath of the Ninja (WOTN) was pretty good. Many people said that if I liked Ninja Scroll (which incidentally, I loved), that I'd really like WOTN. After watching it, I do like it, but not as much as Ninja Scroll. Don't get me wrong, this anime is good in its own right, but it's somehow not on the same level as the other. The characters are memorable, especially Sakon, the animation is some of the best I've seen, especially the backgrounds and environments. The action, while good, seems to lack something at times, leaving you wanting. Suffice to say, there's plenty of action in it, so it makes up for that in a small way. The other reason this anime doen't get 5 stars from me is because it feels too episodic after the first opening sequences. It's hard to describe, but sometimes it feels that there are parts that are missing explanations or flushing out of details. All in all, this is a good anime, though not the best. It's my personal opinion, and you can take it as you like. "If You Like Anime About Fuedal Japan,You'll Loooove This!" This movie is one of the best I've seen in awhile, but I'm probably biased because I love the whole mystical, ancient type anime theme. The characters are great and develope well throughout the course of the movie(esp. Raun-Maru! Who'd have thought it! COOOL though,he's my fav.),and the animation is very good. The fighting scenes are good too.But there is one thing I didn't like about it.It was that some scenes were toned so darkly that it was like 'what in the heck just happened?'.But all-in-all Wrath of the Ninja is worth every penny you spend on it! |
