"A beautiful anime"
It's managed to have everything crammed together, and it works well! There's a bunch of armed-to-the-teeth high tech vampire hunters, a mysterious wandering warrior, a doomed love story, lots of gore and plenty of vampire killing action, altogether in one package, pretty entertaining and much superior than the original, of course. I'd recommend you go rent it but it's not worth buying, imho.

"Stellar!"
I disagree with the lead amazon reviewer's comment "the orginal is a better adaptation" i have seen both adaptations and find this one to surpass the original based on presentation, story, and dialogue. finding the original japanese isn't an option and I must say that dubbing in the original was horrendous while it was stellar in this version. so basically, if you were disatisfied with the original vampire hunter D, don't give up and give bloodlust a chance.

"Superb Anime"
I'm sick and tired of everyone complaining that the anime was not in Japanese. It was NEVER meant to be in Japanese b/c there is only one version. Even the original is in English. The plot is excellent as it stays true to the original and the animation is second to none. Most will tell you that the original was better; however, I disagree. The voices are pretty good, although not the best and the audio is very good. I recommend this to everyone of my anime customers. The action is excellent and I can't think of another anime movie that is more deserving to spend on than this one. In times when action anime movies are rare, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust is a true gem to buy.

"This doesn't even deserve ONE star"
It has so much bloodshed in it that you'll be wanting to set fire to yourself just to escape this blodd-obssessed mistake. This movie has animation ripped off of "Gundam Wing" and the characters grate on your nerves with irritating voices that will give you a head-splitting migraine after 5 seconds. The musical score is god-awful and there is no plot.If you're expectinbg a plot in this dus, you'll be sadly mistaken-all you'll find is a movie that consists of nothing but ongoing violence and bloodshed. You'll be asking yourself"where's the plot?why isn't there a storyline in here?" over and over again as you try hard to keep focused to this flop. After 5 seconds, you'll be wanting to rip this DVD out of the player and smash the DVD into itty-bitty pieces with a sledge-hammer.That's how irritating and annoying this flop is.

"top notch animation"
This is the sequel to the original release back in 1984, This time D is out to save a young woman kidnapped by the vampire meir link. The animation is as good as anything I have ever seen in anime. It ranks up there with Ghost In The Shell or anything else of this caliber. The music this time around is astoundingly good, it really made the movie and the plot is also very interesting. D is drawn to look very sharp in this movie, the detail in his face is exceptional, very smooth and fluid. Most anime is drawn to give good facial expression to bring across emotion, but D is about the best I have ever seen (this time around). For any anime fan, this is an absolute must have for your collection.
